Cheshire boasts some of the finest gardens in Britain. Not only its great Gardens of Distinction, such as Tatton Park, Cholmondeley Castle or Ness Botanic Gardens, which are world renowned. But also the smaller, but no less facinating and delightful Gardens of Discovery, such as the newly created Mount Pleasant Gardens, or Rode Hall with its woodland gardens, terraced rock garden and winter snowdrop walks. Each of these gardens are havens of tranquility, yet they are all easily accessed from the county's extensive road network. No need to trek for miles between gardens - in Cheshire they are located within easy travelling distance of each other - and in the centre and North East of the county, they are particularly abundant.

In this part of the website, we are highlighting gardens with a similar story to tell. These include Stately Gardens, which have grown up around our great mansions; and Secret Gardens, hidden jewels to search out and discover. Suggested destinations are highlighted on the map, all within easy travelling distance of each other. You don't need to visit them all in one day - take your time and enjoy them fully. You can also show other attractions, places to eat and drink, or accommodation, close to your chosen destination. Please remember - if you do decide to visit more than one garden in one day, thoroughly check opening times, to avoid disappointment.
